Dual Energy is a forward-thinking startup dedicated to bridging the gap between agriculture and renewable energy. Founded in 2020, we are committed to providing sustainable energy solutions that benefit both the environment and agricultural communities.
Our mission is to innovate and implement technologies that optimize energy usage in farming, promoting sustainability and economic growth. By integrating renewable energy systems into agricultural practices, we aim to create a harmonious balance between productivity and environmental stewardship.
2020
Initiated Collaborations & Research
We initiated collaborations with 10 farmers in Italy and completed two Engineering Bachelor Theses focused on evaluating the durability of our Agrivoltaic systems.
2021
Technical Component Study
Conducted extensive studies on the technical components of our system, from the choice of solar panels to the selection of structure materials.
2022
Supply Chain & Optimization
Selected key partners for the supply chain and leveraged software to identify optimal areas for implementing our agrivoltaic system, focusing on northern Italy.
2023
Key Partnerships & Business Model
Established a key partnership with the IPESE lab to demonstrate and validate our results at EPFL, while developing a sustainable business model that empowers all stakeholders financially.
2024
Proof of Concept & Financial Partnerships
Ongoing agreement with Nestlé for the initial Proof of Concept at their farm laboratory in Piacenza, Italy. Additionally, finalizing agreements with financial partners such as BAS and Banca Etica to ensure power delivery to the farmers.
2025
Finalize PoC & Expand
Finalize the first Proof of Concept in partnership with Nestlé, and prepare to establish another site, either in Italy or Valais, based on research and development conducted with the IPESE lab in Sion.
